Supporting your own trainees.

1. Check the requirements

   A service licensed under SGB XI and § 37 SGB V can become a provider of practical training. Registration with PfAU.NRW is only possible once the care contract with an IK number has been submitted.

2. Plan reports and deadlines

   The training fund works with forecast reports, notices and ongoing actual reports. Put the dates firmly in your calendar and name a responsible person in the office.

3. Ensure practical instruction

   Practical instruction is regulated in § 4 of the Nursing Professions Training and Examination Regulation: planned, structured and with a set minimum amount per placement. Practice instructors need professional experience, an additional teaching qualification of at least 300 hours and at least 24 hours of further training each year.

4. Make a training plan

   Decide when trainees get to know which rounds and tasks. A clear plan helps practice instructors, the team and trainees.

5. Name a fixed contact person

   Besides practical instruction, a fixed mentor in the team helps. Regular short talks show early on where there are problems.

6. Stay in touch with the school

   Agree placements and dates early with the nursing school. Short lines of communication avoid misunderstandings.

7. Show that you train

   Show on your website and on social media that you offer training. Many applicants look specifically for training companies near them.
